I am in full support of H.R. 543: Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act of 2013, because it is short, simple, to the point, and the nearest bill that has been presented to what is a restoration act, nothing more, nothing less, and the only restriction is "Territorial Waters".
H.R. 543 contains identical language as S.1629 and H. R. 3612
193 cosponsors (127D, 66R)
Stay on Congress about the Restoration Acts!
SHORT TITLE(S) AS INTRODUCED:
Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act of 2013
OFFICIAL TITLE AS INTRODUCED:
To amend title 38, United States Code, to clarify presumptions relating to the exposure of certain veterans who served in the vicinity of the Republic of Vietnam, and for other purposes.
While this bill isn't going to cover everyone in the Blue Water Navy, it will cover a large majority of them and will get the benefits restored and going for those members of Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans who served within the stated limits.
And, or course, the question is, is this just another feel good ploy by the legislature to snow the Blue Water Navy one more time?
It's imperative that you contact your Senators and Representative to support these bills and their enactment.
You should also Contact the Senate Veterans Committee
the House Veterans Committee.
TRACKING THE BILLS!
Remember, the stated primary mission is to get the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans benefits restored. Once that is done, and this has always been the plan, we go after TLC, Korea and the other sites such as Guam, Johnston Island, Okinawa, Subic Bay & etc.
Stand to and stand strong my friends.
These bills are the best chance we have at getting the restoration of our benefits in nearly a decade.
